A series of attempts to make sound visible. Photographed on a Rolleiflex SL66 in extreme macro and cross-processed, the images begin with ordinary materials, ink in water, satin, flowers, and push them until they stop being recognizable. Water surface becomes atmosphere. Fabric becomes terrain. The negative is scanned and then pulled further, until the colors drift past their origins.
The subject is synesthesia: specifically, the way certain frequencies arrive not as sound but as texture, movement, and color. These images are not illustrations of that experience. They are closer to evidence, what remained after the translation.
